PACPUS

Platform History

This project was initiated by :

  • European research projects by the PCRD (Prometheus 1991-1994, Roadsense 2001-2004)
  • PREDIT’s national projects : (ARCOS 2001-2004, MobiVip 2004-2007, Sari 2005-2008)
  • and from the CNRS ROBEA program (Bodega 2003-2005)
  • the GdR CNRS/INRETS CHMAC (Coopération Homme-Machine pour l’Aide à la Conduite automobile 1999-2001).

In 2005, the platform was identified by the CNRS as a strategic platform (PACPUS is the french acronym for « Perception et Assistance pour une Conduite Plus Sûre ») and was supported by the organization in order to acquire the CARMEN testbed. CARMEN took part of the IEEE IV2008 and IV2011 symposiums as demonstrator.
